In the Western North Carolina Mountains' Graham County, the Appalachian Trail leaves the woods for a while to cross over the 480 ft. high, 2,365 ft. long Fontana Dam. Fontana Dam is the highest concrete, gravity dam east of the Rocky Mountains. Tha Appalachian Trail (AT) extends over 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.
And yes, the AT sign really is leaning over.
