Jesus Christ is the "light of the world" (John 8:12). His love and truth shine in the darkness, and illuminate those who have eyes to see, and ears to hear. He is like the lodestar (aka the North or Pole Star) - a sure and steady guide to those who are lost. You can find the lodestar in this painting directly behind the Savior's eye. The rest of the stars are placed exactly where they should be, including the Big Dipper. May this painting, as it has for me, cause you to reflect on the peace and safety found in our loving and watchful Lord.
