Description
McLane Stadium sits on the banks of the Brazos River in Waco Texas. The stadium serves as the home field for the football program at Baylor University. Originally named "Baylor Stadium", the name was changed to McLane Stadium in December 2013 to honor alumnus and business magnate Drayton McLane, Jr., who provided the lead gift for the stadium construction. Baylor's first game at McLane was played August 31, 2014, with the Bears defeating SMU 450.Seating capacity is 45,140. In addition to sporting events, Baylor and the city of Waco plan to use the venue to host concerts and other community events. FUN FACT: McLane Stadium joins the compay of Neyland Stadium (University of Tennessee), Husky Stadium (University of Washington) and Heinz Field (University of Pittsburg and Pittsburg Steelers) where fans can arrive at the stadium by boat and tailgate in a cove that adjoins the stadium. Sounds perfect!
