This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
This is an image of a vintage 1940s Texaco gas station sign. The sign is porcelain and a bit faded, rusty and crusty but definitely shows quite a bit of character.
This sign was found believe it or not hanging on a shepard's hook outside a closed gas station on a North Carolina back road. It was very cool to see this vintage piece of porcelain american petroliana surviving the elements some 60-70 years after it was made. I truly was surprised to see it on this back road, it literally is in the middle of nowhere and nothing. A few farms here and there but that was about it.It is a very cool vintage sign.
Texaco is a historic American oil company that held significance for several reasons:
Longevity and History: Texaco had a long and storied history, dating back to its founding in 1901 as the Texas Fuel Company. It eventually merged with The Texas Company and adopted the name Texaco in 1928. The company operated for over a century before merging with Chevron Corp...

The Texaco gasoline when it first started selling was known as the gasoline "with Techron" that had its own Havoline motor oil brand. It first opened up around the turn of the 20th century in Texas, and became a houselhold name across all 50 states, as people heard the jingles "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star" and "Star of the American Road" (Wikepedia) ! Love this capture of a great American find, Chris! Fave! L/F!
