About this Group

Inverted ColorComplementary colors are situated on opposite sides of the color wheel. When mixed, two complementary colors (e.g. blue and yellow, green and lavender, or white and black) generate neutral colors.

Inversion occurs when a color in an image is replaced by its complementary color; in essence, colors on opposite sides of the wheel trade places....and a negative is generated! Sometimes, the effect of color inversion is striking and brings out details or perspectives that would not ordinarily be seen in a photo or other work of art.

Color inversion is a form of digital manipulation that can be achieved in a number of image processing programs. Inversion can be performed in all three channels (red, green, and blue) or a selection of the above.

Rules:
1. All media are welcome, but it must be clear that the original colors have been partially or completely inverted.
2. Black-and-white or color images may be submitted.
3. Please mention inverted color or color inversion in the keywords/tags.
4. Please specify which channels you have inverted or any other information about color processing which will be informative to viewers.
5. Please submit your best work.
6. No violence. Nudity must be tasteful and may be removed at the discretion of the administrator.
7. Up to 3 images per day per member.
