Description
This is an image of an old Grist mill. The term grist mill can be used for either them building itself or the machine that grinds grain into flower. Grist is any grain that has been separated from its chaff. The most common grist are wheat, corn, oats, barley and buckwheat. In this case the millers box is filled with ground corn (corn flower). Grist mills have been reported to have existed before 71 bc. This is not a new technology, it is centuries old but effective. This specific mill and mill stone are from the middle to late 1800s.
