JITNY unloading vacationer cars here once ferried US Army troops and armored vehicles to beaches under assault in WW11. My USN duty some 25 years later was aboard LST 1126( Landing Ship Tank) transporting Marines to training exercises in peacetime Pacific. McCalls New Yorker cover hangs above my ship's plaque.

Steam engine locomotives have been a favorite since childhood in the '40s. "Train Race" hangs below a photo of a family member from the '20s in his conductor attire.

Artist's Description
This is an image of the antique grain silos in New Bern NC. The mill itself is long gone but the skeletons of the silos remain. It seems that in the US this is becoming a more and more common scene. Businesses, not just in North Carolina, are struggling harder and harder to maintain, not even making any real gains. These grain tower silos are a good example of the haayday in american manufacturing now more of our goods both durable and non durable are imported from places outside the US.
