Description
The Graham-Paige produced american cars, out of detroit from 1927-1940. Production ceased for the war effort of WWII. When the company reopened it was sold to Kaiser-Frazier and the Graham name was scheduled to be produced but that did not happen.
This specific car is a 1940 Graham Supercharged Coupe. 1 of approximately 1,000 cars produced in 1940. The bodystyle was named "Spirit of Motion" and was designed by Amos Northrup however he died prior to completion of the design and Graham engineers completed the design. The nose of the car design was known as the "shark nose". Sales of this style did not do all that well. it is estimated that 6,000 - 13,000 units of this style were produced between 1938-1940, with about 1,000 being produced in 1940.
The Motor in this specific vehicle is a supercharged 218 cu in V6. The car was available in a standard and a superchaged 218.
